Sri Lanka will house two new four star Centara Hotels and Resorts towards the end of this year. This is a part of the expansion plan of the Thailand based Centara Hotels and Resorts properties in Asia. Centara has 55 owned and managed properties worldwide and is on a definite path of growth.

Centara also aims to acquire more than 45 hotels and resorts in order to meet their worldwide target of reaching 100 properties by the year 2017.

Earmarking these openings in Mauritius, Centara has revealed that it will inaugurate its China operation by opening a property in Shanghai next year.

Besides Thailand, established Centara properties under the five-star Centara Grand, four-star Centara, Centara Residence and Suites, Centara Boutique Collection, and Centara value brands, can be found in Maldives, Vietnam, Philippines and Bali.

Besides Centara the ITC Hotels from India is also establishing a Luxury Collection property under the Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.
